Open Call to Artists


Standing Call to Artists. The Gallery’s Advisory Board selects works and collections for an exhibition. The Gallery hosts approximately eight shows per year, including an annual juried photography show, one or more group shows by local guilds or artist collectives, themed exhibits, and solo shows. We have a standing Call to Artists who wish to submit their works for consideration. Interested artists can complete the application form below and submit their request electronically. Otherwise, applications which are sent by mail should provide the Advisory Board with a proposal for an exhibition, including:

(1) A cover letter or email
(2) Artist’s biography / resume
(3) Samples of work submitted for consideration
(4) A general proposal for an exhibition, subject to change.

The Advisory Board reviews submissions on a rolling basis at its monthly meetings (with exceptions in summer). The Advisory Board is under no obligation to provide the artist or group with an explanation as to why their submission was accepted or rejected. Gallery exhibits are generally booked 12 to 18 months in advance and artists are expected to honor agreements to show during a particular period.

Please be aware that artists are responsible for the installation & de-installation of their exhibition. This includes all labor involved in hanging, setup and take down. The artist must bring their own ladder, hammers, and hardware, i.e., hooks & nails. A wire hanging system has been installed on the east side of the gallery to preserve the gallery’s wall and for the convenience of the Artist.


Please beware that the university no longer permits exhibiting artist to sell their artwork while it is on display in the gallery.
